Our Body: The Universe Within

Take an extraordinary tour of the human body through Our Body: The Universe Within at the Witte Museum Jan. 26-May 26. Fascinating, artful, and educational, the exhibit reveals the mysteries of human anatomy through a riveting presentation of actual human specimens, featuring 12 bodies and more than 75 anatomical displays. Witte Museum is open Monday, Wednesday-Saturday: 10 am-5 pm; Tuesday: 10 am-8 pm; Sunday: Noon-5 pm; and until 8 pm May 2-4. (The exhibit will be open for museum members only Monday, May 5.) Must-See Museums
Downtown San Antonio is dotted with fascinating museums. The Long Barracks Museum and Library at the Alamo do justice to this celebrated Texas landmark. The Buckhorn Saloon & Museum houses many exotic collections including a two-headed calf and a lamb with eight legs! The Children’s Museum is a wonderful place to take your children to play and learn about San Antonio’s history through interactive exhibits and workshops.

Head to the Riverwalk for some of your favorite restaurants such as Boudro’s, Paesanos, The Hard Rock Café, Joe’s Crab Shack, and the Rainforest Café, just to name a few. Also, enjoy dinner at the Tower of Americas, with a stunning view of downtown. For shopping, head over to the Rivercenter Mall, with more than 80 shops to choose from.
Historical Missions
One of the most famous events in Texas history is the battle of the Alamo. Tour the Alamo and many other missions throughout the San Antonio area, and learn a little more about Texas history.
Sports Spots
San Antonio is full of activities for sports lovers! Golf at one of the many beautiful courses in the area such as Quarry, Hill Country, and La Cantera. Watch a baseball game when the San Antonio Missions play against the Frisco Rough Riders. Take the Watchtower Challenge or pan for gems at Natural Bridge Caverns.
