About the Texas Charter Schools Association (TCSA):
TCSA is the new statewide association of charter schools. We proudly represent effective public charter schools from every part of our great state. On behalf of our 323 member schools and 56,490 students who attend them, I want to welcome you to our website. Here you will learn more about the exciting progress of our new organization and our member schools.
The past months have been very productive for the association and for charter schools. During the recently concluded 81st Legislature, TCSA advocates worked tirelessly to promote needed reforms. During the 81st Texas legislative session, we showed unity and represented the diverse range of effective and quality-driven charter schools that enhance student achievement.
In addition to providing strong advocacy at the Capitol, TCSA is working with the UT System Institute for Public School Initiatives to develop a Quality Framework that will measure and improve the academic and financial performance of our member schools. The framework, along with the quality pledge that each school makes upon joining the TCSA, are clear indications of the commitment of Texas charter schools to provide effective, innovative public education to students, some of which may not have succeeded in traditional schools.
TCSA is also developing new member services and trainings for school operators, board members, and teachers.
