Andrea and her husband are the proud parents of two BASIS Texas students. A lifelong theatre buff, Andrea was an active volunteer at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, home of four performing arts companies, including the second-oldest children’s theatre in America. She has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Women’s Shelter.

Andrea Perez began her career in Public Charter Schools over 15 years ago at a small Internet-based charter school in Pennsylvania. Inspired by her grandparents, both educators, she started as an Intern and quickly rose to an Administrative Assistant position. After a brief stint in the private sector, Andrea returned to Public Charter Schools as part of a team opening a network of schools in San Antonio. Shortly after, Andrea joined BASIS Texas in 2015 as the District Administrator. She now proudly serves as Superintendent for the District. Andrea enjoys working with Legislators and parents alike, advocating for school choice.
