Mohamad Maarouf

Superintendent, Arcadia Schools
Mohamad Maarouf is the Founder and proposed Superintendent of Arcadia High School. A proud Houston native, Mohamad has spent over a decade building and supporting schools that deliver on the promise of academic excellence. He previously served as principal of a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon high school, where his leadership helped double the number of AP exams taken while increasing passing scores. As a coach with the School Empowerment Network, he worked closely with leaders across Texas to launch and grow A- and B-rated campuses. Mohamad’s impact extends nationally—he’s partnered with schools in Dallas, Fort Worth, New Orleans, Selma, and Baltimore to lead instructional training and provide hands-on support across the K–12 spectrum. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a master’s in education from the University of St. Thomas, and he’s been honored as a Top Texans Under 30 recipient and a New Leaders Council Fellow. When he’s not designing schools or supporting educators, Mohamad enjoys exploring the world with his family, trying new restaurants, and reading new books.
